Untold Story: Gender-Based Sexual Violence

English translation:
I am a college student living far away from my family. I stay in a rented room because I was unable to secure a place in the hostel.

One day, while walking to college, I noticed a man staring at me in an inappropriate manner. I quickened my pace to avoid him, but unfortunately, he chased after me, grabbed my chest, and prevented me from continuing on my way. I froze and was unable to speak.

Since that incident, I have always taken a longer route to avoid passing through the area where I saw him. I am afraid that he might follow me back to my rented room, and I fear what he might do next.

I have not had the courage to tell anyone about what happened, especially my parents, because I feel ashamed.
